YOUTH AND FAMILY MINISTRY
Learn about the mission of First Lutheran Church, the staff, and how we fit into the broader vision of the ELCA
At First Lutheran Church, everything we do revolves around growing in love for God and love for our neighbor. We believe faith is strengthened through Bible study and devotions, relationships with others, worship, service, and prayer and we offer a variety of experiences to help youth and their families along that journey.
First Lutheran Church works to teach children what it means to be a disciple of Jesus through Bible discovery, experiencing God through prayer and worship, and learning to serve others in love. Sunday School is offered for ages 3 through 6th grade during the school year. Throughout the year, various intergenerational events are offered to get to know our church family and encourage faith formation. Each summer, students are encouraged to participate in Day Camp or Vacation Bible School.
Spark Youth Group: 4th-6th graders meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 4-5:30
Ignite Youth Group: 7th-9th graders meet occasionally for fellowship, and have confirmation on Wednesdays from 6:50-7:45
Fusion Youth Group: 10th-12th graders meet once a week on Wednesdays from 6:50-7:45 with other fellowship and retreat opportunities throughout the year
GIFT is a place for everyone to Grow In Faith Together.
To experience the gift of connecting with God and other members of our church family
Who is welcome?
EVERYONE, all ages and stages
What do we do?
It varies each meeting, but our time together can include worship songs, small group learning and relationship-building, prayers, readings, ice breakers, learning activities, projects and crafts, and more
GIFT Sundays will be announced in The Messenger and the weekly bulletin announcements.
Please give someone else the gift of your presence at GIFT. We need people of all generations to come together so we can all learn and grow as individuals and as a body of Christ
